The previous demo using CSS only.
A new style grid-template-rows:masonry will soon be available which will style the grid without the need for javascript/jQuery.
It is available at the moment (23rd November 2023) on Firefox by enabling the 'layout.css.grid-template-masonry-value.enabled' flag in about:config.
