A cross-browser drop-line cascading validating menu

15th March 2006

Revised 5th January 2007

Information

Yet another method of styling the cross-browser drop-down menu.

This time the drop-down is a horizontal line of links that further cscades to another horizontal line.

Most useful when you only have a few items in each cascade and do not want to encroach too much onto the area below the menu.

The xhtml is still the same as for the previous drop-down and flly-out menus and all that has changed is the styling.

I hope that you like this one. I think that it is a little different from most drop-down menus and deserves it's place as the ONLY CSS drop line cascading menu on the internet.

5th January

I have decided to bring this one up to date with my latest techniques. The (x)html has been revised to do away with the double entry top level list items making it easier to understandand better for screen readers.

The two separate stylesheets have been combined into one which has been placed in the page head to make it easier to understand and simpler to find and download.

This works in the latest issues of all modern browsers and can be made to work in IE5.5 with a few hacks to correct the box model error.
